Graphical software tool eases integration and management of high-performance distributed applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—January 26, 2011—Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Global Leader in DDS, today announced the availability of RTI Monitor, a graphical software tool that provides real-time visibility into systems that use RTI Data Distribution Service. RTI Monitor collects information and analyzes data flows, errors and network traffic so users have better performance and health data on their deployed systems. RTI Monitor functions as a configurable dashboard for quick-read, real-time display of system data.

"RTI Monitor provides insight into the high-volume, high-speed transaction system of our AgileBet sports betting platform," said William Teo, chief technology officer from Xuenn Limited. "We use the information gathered to fine tune our network, diagnose and debug, and visually understand the layout of our Data Distribution Service system. RTI Monitor is designed for both developers and operators and eases our application integration and testing processes."

RTI Monitor augments RTI Data Distribution Service, the market-leading implementation of the Object Management Group (OMG) Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) Standard. RTI Monitor displays real-time data in color-coded charts, diagrams, tables and trees. This insight is useful during multiple phases of application development and management, from component integration, debugging and performance tuning to network-usage tracking and traffic analysis.

"Customers are already finding RTI Monitor critical for debugging their systems. They use it to find and fix data-loss issues, measure bandwidth and improve performance," said Ken Brophy, tools product lead at RTI. "RTI Monitor is proving to be an invaluable tool for getting 'under the hood' of an application, understanding its behavior and diagnosing issues."

RTI Monitor's window into complex behavior is key for developers, integrators and operators. The tool not only collects detailed statistics on middleware activity.network traffic and errors, component configuration, and system connection state.but also serves as a vital component for tracking and tuning application performance.
