Again, and again, and again,

each time I upgrade the operating system on my mac mini I have troubles with this laser printer.

The printer is fantastic but the software and the support is not….

Anyway for those who need to use this printer with Mac OS X Mavericks I'm going to describe how to do. If you have a previous version of Mac OS X take a look at Canon LBP-2900 on Mac OS X Mountain Lion or at Using the Canon LBP2900 with Snow Leopard

Canon has released a new version of the CAPT driver for Mac OS X, so now the printer works with Mavericks using the new CAPT v3.65 driver available here:  http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100420705.html  and the old Mountain Lion patch which is available here:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7kZEfXZH5ZXOEt0R2NnNVpwdDQ/edit?usp=drive_web&p li=1

Open the "System Settings", then open "Printers and Scanners" and, if you have a previous installation of the LBP2900, delete your printer, then restart your computer.

Install the new CAPT driver and restart your computer.

Install the patch and restart your computer.

Go to System Settings / Printers and Scanners and reinstall your printer selecting Cannon LBP2900 (CAPTuk) driver from the drivers list

Now the LBP2900 should work fine.
