With Windows 7 you are able to open a new command prompt directly from a windows of explorer. This means that you can browse to the directory you are interesed in, and then you can open a cmd with the current directory sets to the one you have selected.
The trick is the following
- open an explorer window
- hold the shift key and right click on the window
- In the menu that will appear select the “Open command window here” item
You cmd prompt will work in the selected directory.
